What is in a name?

The name of my blog, Insignificant Happiness, comes from my core beliefs. Firstly, that we are each insignificant in comparison to the big wide universe. Secondly, that despite our insignificance, we can still be happy.

Further, we can still be moral, emotional, loving, purposeful and honest.

I hope, that as my inspiration to write moves on, I will eventually compile a series of posts that explain this phenomena – and that demonstrate, both to supernaturalists and others, that being without a god does not preclude a healthy, productive and happy lifestyle.

I’ve decided to start a blog to represent my thoughts, and my current position of an atheist. I really wanted to get more involved with other atheist blogs, and decided that having a blog of my own would increase the amount of interaction I’d have – more so than just commenting alone.
